So, the youngest daughter is home from college, and she just startled me by telling me that she met Jordan Peterson.

Apparently he was at her university speaking, and she got in line and had him sign a couple of his books.  She told me she gave him some music that she thought he would like and got a hearty "thank you" from the professor.

Well, then.   Nothing like meeting the movers and shakers of the world.  I'm jealous.

In a hyper liberal academic environment, the daughter shines through the haze of political correctness and illogical thought.   Interestingly, the university she goes to had Bill Clinton as their commencement speaker last year, which was an outrage in itself, but this year, perhaps in penance, they are having the guy that broke the "me too" movement wide open, Ronan Farrow.  Perhaps irony is lost on these people.

These were the two books she had him sign:

12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos

Maps of Meaning: The Architecture of Belief

  2. I've designated Dr. Peterson my solo guru. I bought his 12 Rule book recently and have learned a lot even though I'm only 4 chapters into it. Actually I'm surprised the America hating Liberals didn't interrupt his lecture. I believe he has been the subject to harassment in some schools.

  3. It's good that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. She sees the truth for what it is. I predict a bright and noble future for her.

  4. That is so cool; I'm jealous, too! He's absolutely brilliant and an international treasure. I binge watch his youtube channel and support his work via Patreon. Both his Maps of Meaning and Biblical series on there are wonderful-highly recommended.

  5. Add me to the "I envy your daughter" Club! I also have his 12 Rules book which I find to be excellent advice and well-written. He's inspired me to "clean up my room!"

  6. You know about Ronan Farrow, right? Although he's officially the son of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, at the time of his -ahem- conception, Mia was still carrying the torch for her ex-husband, Frank Sinatra. Put a picture of Frankie and Ronan, both in their 20's, next to each other and you'll see what I mean. For laughs, get a picture of a younger Woody and put Ronan between them. Compare & Contrast. Yeah, me too.
