I think it was Allan Dwan who directed, with Douglas Fairbanks as the star (according to IMDB.) That version I haven't seen.So far the best one I've seen is still the Errol Flynn Robin Hood from 1938. Errol thrilled me, while Olivia de Havilland stole my heart in that film.
