It's a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

Feds Collect Record Individual Income Taxes Through March; Still Run $599.7B Deficit

The approximately $736,274,000,000 in individual income taxes that the Treasury collected in October through March of this fiscal year was $24,473,780,000 more than the $711,800,220,000 (in constant March 2018 dollars) that the Treasury collected in the first six months of fiscal 2017.  So, nearly 25 billion more we working folk generated for the elite to waste.

I'll keep this in mind, politicians, as I write my quarterly out to the government next week.

  1. I tire of ranting about the inefficiencies and absolute abuse of the system that is the hallmark of the deficit. It's in the interest of the government agencies that dole out money to dole out more because it's job security. The welfare state generates jobs for millions of Americans (drones) who have no skills other than being drones. Then there's the money they hand out.

  2. "the greatest trick the devil ever did is convincing people he doesn't exist"
the usual suspects. every time i watch c-span that phrase comes to mind.
when we finally have that constitutional convention the socialist democratcs keep threatening us with, i'm gonna bring up an amendment forbidding deficit spending excepting during a declared state of war, and elected politicans must take an iq test and be at least smarter than maxine waters
