Born Lorayne Day in Casper, Wyoming. A voluptuous blonde starlet, she enjoyed brief fame as a crooning cowgirl on CBS TV’s “The Ken Murray Show” from 1950 to 1953. Her hit theme song, “I Love the Wide Open Spaces” (with the emphasis on “Wide”), became a popular catch phrase of the era. -
