Core sample taken from the track at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Bottom layer is brick laid almost 108 years ago

  1. My father attended a Memorial day race back in the early 1930s when the "Brick Yard" was still mostly brick. He was a big race fan and growing up in Paterson, NJ regularly attend the midget races in Hinchliffe stadium. Anyone interested can read this:
