Your laughably good news of the day

The Democratic base is growing increasingly frustrated with former President Barack Obama’s actions after leaving office, including a seemingly endless tour of millionaire and billionaire luxury retreats, according to Democrats and activists contacted by Fox News.

Since leaving office in late January, Obama has visited late actor Marlon Brando’s private island; the Four Seasons in Bali -- where rooms cost upward of $2,000 per night; a Palm Springs estate; Sir Richard Branson’s Necker Island; the exclusive Mid Pacific Country Club in Oahu; the 13th-century Borgo Finocchieto in Tuscany; and the Rising Sun, Hollywood studio mogul David Geffen’s private yacht.

"These are some of the most luxurious travel destinations in the world. Many of our clients spend tens of thousands of dollars or more to stay at these resorts, which cater to the most discriminating and demanding guests,” said Kendra Thornton, travel expert and owner of luxury travel agency Royal Travel. “For example, Necker Island has a nightly price tag of $80,000. Anyone who stays at these properties does so because they want the best of the best."

And people were afraid he'd stay in DC and become a shadow president, holding court with a fawning press and criticizing everything Trump was trying to do.  Nope, too lazy and narcissistic for that.

Unexpectedly, he's becoming an embarrassment to the party that elevated him to the White House with his high living ways.

  1. Who cares? He is free to do what he wants and he no longer is President. The Democrats keep expecting or believeing him to be something he is not and never will be. Trump has a plan and is acting as a steward of his particular vision. Trump is building a legacy and something that will endure from the time he took office to years in the future. Obama never built anything of consequence. If the Democrats actually cared they would rebuild their party and bring in new people with a new vision and forget people like Obama.

    1. He can do whatever he wants, but it seems his political friends had different plans for him.

    2. They likely do. He is a poor choice. Trump articulated why he wanted to be President, what he wanted to accomplish, and how he was going to do it. If Obama never accomplished anything in eight years in office he is certainly not going to set the world on fire now.

    3. It's PR, BW.

The Donks run on a power base of 'the left, and the left behind'. They are supposedly the guardians and champions of the little guy - and here he is, hob knobbing with billionaires and power brokers the liberals supposedly detest and oppose.

My advice to the Donks would be for them not to forget Obama - but to remember him and his betrayal of their core values. Only then can they move forward as you suggest.

  2. The Dems need to run Pelosi for president next time. She'll be 80 (and even more senile) by then and will be the perfect poster child for their agenda. Barack was epic lazy. Pelosi will forget where she left her teeth. The result would be roughly the same.

  3. Isn't the government providing him with security still?

  4. He was always just a puppet. Everything about him is phony, all his wondrous capabilities were hype; in real life he's a simpleton that was molded into the Star of the White House. All he was expected to do was follow the script presented to him on his teleprompter. His act is over, now he's enjoying his payoff.

Performing seals don't mind if you watch them eat the fish they're thrown, and Obama doesn't mind us watching him living La Vida Grande on someone else's dime. What pains me most is the fact that many of those dimes come from people like me, who'd rather see him in jail where he belongs.
