  1. Saab has done an incredible job building aircraft when you consider the size of tiny Sweden.

  2. Sweden, a neutral, emerged from World War II unbombed and with a booming economy in a devastated Europe, plus access to some very talented recently unemployed German engineers. So that's part of their "economic miracle".
