The whole family spent the day today driving the youngest daughter three hours to set her up in her college dorm. She texted a few hours ago to tell us she finished unpacking and decorating her dorm room.
She's the last of the brood to transition from high school to college, and it was a bit of a wrench to have our group hug and then drive home without her. The other two are still here, but will be scattering to their own institutions in a couple of days.
Now dad just has to foot the bill. Mom and dad are also going to be living a very different life from now on *sniff*.
Sweet sorrow.

ReplyDeleteSo, what's the spare bedroom situation now?
I remember when you folks had no brood and look at you know. I finer riot of well raised young ones I've never seen.
ReplyDeleteWhy, what a beautiful young lady! I hope she knocks them dead and makes her parents proud!
ReplyDeleteAnd this is where the proud parents discover whether or not they did their jobs right. I am sure they have nothing to worry about on that score!
