And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Hungarian swords, 14th century, at the Topkapi Palace Museum in Istanbul. The middle sword is 8ft long
The Hungarians must have been some big dudes back in the day
What goes around comes around. These old big cutlery instruments are like 21st century Cadillac Escalades, Chevy Tahoes and GMC Yukons. Mega penis substitutes for low self-esteem, insecure dudes.
If there really was a dude who could lift and swing that thing, I certainly would not want face him on the battlefield with a sword of my own.
ReplyDeleteGive him the first swing. Duck under. Poke him 6 times as he tries to get back on offense.

ReplyDeleteSo says the guy jealous of his pals driving Escalades, Tahoes and Yukons.
DeleteWall hangers.
ReplyDeleteNever carried, never worn, never swung in anger nor earnest.
To 100% certainty.
But pretty.
Wrong. Those are known as a Lancet. Used to Dismount/Gut Cavalry Troops. You don't Swing it, but Aim and Upthrust at the Rider.
DeleteMostly for showing off. Those tire you out rather fast, no shield either cause those are full to handers.
ReplyDeleteHer eyes say, "Those are big."
ReplyDelete... there were giants in those days ...
ReplyDeleteThose look like great swords, designed to be 2 handed and thrusted between the guys in the front row of the shield wall.
