The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Same here. Born in South California, lived in Laguna until 1974. Moved to the good part of California and have never gone back to see what the place turned into.
I was in Laguna Beach in fall of 66 living the hippie life. Stayed in a motel/cabins up a side street towards the south end of town. Might even have been this street.
YMCA had a job center that would send me out to do yard work.
In 67 I was about to get drafted so joined the Navy to avoid VN.
Sorry Dad, I crushed your tailpipe.
ReplyDeleteUsed to ride my motorcycle to Laguna Beach back in the 70's from MCAS El Toro. Lovely place at the time with more eye candy than you possibly take in.
ReplyDeleteLooks as though it was much more enjoyable "back in the day" compared with current Cali.
ReplyDeleteI grew up in South Orange County in the 50’s & 60’s and left in the 80’s. Never looked back. To be sure that photo was not taken in May or June.
