  1. I dont remember how secure the rear window was in the raised position while driving.

  2. I had one of those in '61. It was pretty much used up and these days I'm embarrassed that I bought it but I was only about 18. Anyway, the rear window staying up depended on the strength of some springs, where these days we'd have gas struts. The springs in mine were so weak that I had bent clothes hanger wire to keep it raised when necessary. Had to watch out for exhaust gas being sucked in. Those gas struts get weak, too.

  4. Chevy used heavy duty mechanical sliders that resemble cabinet drawer slider hardware, with locking buttons.
