  2. Australia and the United States have similar land areas, with the USA being slightly larger. The land area of Australia is approximately 2.989 million square miles, while the USA is about 3.797 million square miles. However, Australia is approximately 80% the size of the contiguous United States.

    1. 100% agree. Their north is closer to the equator just like our south is.

      Even better, although much more work, would be to line up latitude lines AND flip the image N/S

  6. It is not about land mass but about arable land. The U.S. has that in spades. Australia has us in things that will kill you (snakes, salt water crocs, spiders, etc.).
