And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Convair XF2Y-1 Sea Dart in flight over San Diego, California. Date: 1953-1957
Look at that cockpit and fuselage shape around it then look at the SR-71. Me would bet a modest sum of money that this is a testbed design for certain aspects of the Blackbird airframe. The similarity is just too great.
More like Convair trying to sell a plane (F-102) to the Navy. Turns out sucking a bunch of water into the engine isn't so great. And zero need for it with aircraft carriers.

DeleteJet seaplanes are a bad idea.
ReplyDeleteBack when Convair did a ton of delta-wing designs.
ReplyDeleteIt exploded over San Diego Bay during a test flight for Navy brass.
