And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I’ve got a downstairs room with old barn wood siding for paneling. Sits, I dunno 150 feet up the bluff. Overlooks a good stretch of the lower Columbia. Privately held logging country behind me and a Columbia white tail deer reserve below. Town’s got 500 people. Bottom of my hill is a window and door maker. Endless supply of kiln dried kindling for my wood stove.
Got lucky and picked up 2 cord of seasoned and split fir at an estate sale in the middle of October. $75.00. Sometimes I take the bridge from Downtown to the island and catch the ferry to go to Clatskanie or Astoria. Fine wood stove exactly like the one in the picture
That is a great corner spot. A sturdy coffee and a book…all set.
