And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Gorgeous Eurogirl Eva Zu Beck Reacts to Her FIRST American Rodeo.
she came away with a much better appreciation for what goes into a rodeo. Not bad for a devoted vegetarian. She's still a nut, but willing to see what things are all about.
One comment on the youtube version - see how she started off sitting in the stands and then, when things started, she moved to the fence to get a closer view. Really drew her in.
It's too bad she didn't have anyone to explain to her the purpose and origin of the various events, and that many of them are based on necessary work which goes on, on farms...so she was just uninformed, and astonished at all of them...for those Europeans reading along, rodeos are a way for the competitors to showcase their abilities...and maybe win a little prize money in the process. I'm a city dweller, and not a cowboy, but I can appreciate and enjoy what they do!
Rodeos aren't just an American thing. Google Australian Rodeo and Quebec Rodeo (that's the French-speaking part of Canada--it's really odd to watch events you see at an American rodeo, people dressed the same way--but the announcements are all in Quebecois French). You folks are already probably aware that Alberta (Canada) has rodeos as well.
Watched several of her videos after this one. She's got a fine sense of adventure, willingness to push her boundaries a bit, open minded to learning new things, and significantly more tolerant of different viewpoints than the anonymous trolls in these comments.
Good video. She learned about what is good in life. Had to laugh at the locking gas cap but at the price diesel is I understand. Hadn't seen one of those since the 70's.
Don't worry sweetheart some of the best people go to rodeos. Nothing like a good rodeo.
ReplyDeleteAmericana. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteA "toy sheep"? Glad I'm an American living in the "unsafe" west.

ReplyDeleteshe can go to any bar on Wed nite in Tulsa Okla and see team roping -- wooden calves, etc. she is the DUMBEST European and her cameraman sucks.
ReplyDeleteGood video CW, watched it all. She was cute and hopefully a good experience shows her there is another side not as demonic as it's made out.

ReplyDeleteCalgary stampede on my bucket list. Been to the Cheyenne Frontier Days, thankfully not when local hero Lane Frost rode.

I think that is standard on autos in Europe (she's from Poland, so is the vehicle.) Might be wrong, however.
