And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I'd wait too. For me, it is the secondary questions which help me decide on a new gun. How many holster manufacturers will carry something for this gun? How much are additional magazines? How available are night sights and/or optics?
The answer to those questions often keep me in the bigger names, but in my mind, it isn't just the gun that you're buying.
Only if Savage goes to the bother of paying an $1800 application fee and giving two of the guns to CA DOJ to get it on the approved list, and then going through the same procedure in two years to keep it on the list. And since the Stance comes in three colors, Savage will have to go through the process three times if they want to get all three colors certified. Complete and utter B.S.
Hmm, I thought it was THREE guns. It's actually by skew number. Each variation, color, finish, etc, is considered a different gun, and each must be destructively tested. They don't get the guns returned. Last I heard, the labs that do the testing aren't even in CA!
You're right. According to CA DOJ website, the tests are conducted by Chesapeake Testing, Belcamp, MD and Professional Analysis and Consulting, Inc., Lisle, IL. The guns are sent by the manufacturer directly to the labs, not to the DOJ.
Interesting that the labs are in Illinois and Maryland, two other gun-unfriendly states.
Also interesting is that neither the Sig P365 and Sig P938 mentioned above are on the approved list in California.
I used to be paranoid like that too, for many years, until I came across a stunning deal on a pair of almost new S&W M+P's in 9mm. I'm warming up to the idea that as long as you keep your finger off the trigger the gun will be your fastest friend.
Looks like a good pistol, there have been some reviews on it, mostly favorable. I agree with waiting for a year or so to see how a new product is doing before buying one. Recalls are fairly rare but they do happen. Give them time to get all the bugs, if any, worked out.
I like the look of the CZ better, and as STANCE is a new model I would wait to see how people like it a after a year.

ReplyDeleteIt needs more angles, serrations and random slots in the slide.... Totally not a busy enough design. Fucker looks like a high dollar hi point.
