And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I have the 8 quart version. Best thing for making hard "boiled" eggs. It's really pressure steaming them. No green rings and peel easily. I personally prefer the simple crock pot when doing stuff low and slow
I can make spaghetti sauce in 10 minutes in my instant pot. Pulled pork in 2 hours, beef stroganoff takes 8 minutes, etc. To say this is a convenience is an understatement.
Study's show that 99% of the people that regularly use the Instant Pot are at least 50 lbs over weight. The municipal sewer authorities are worried the systems are unable to sustain the strain!
Our son gave us an IP 5 years ago and we've only used it twice. We don't need to prepare much food for just the 2 of us and we're not in a big hurry. So yeah, the slow cooker gets more use around here. Low and Slow.
I have a rice cooker like that and I make a big pot of rice for my weekly lunches. Really fast, easy and makes GREAT rice. I need to figure out what else I can do with it
A few years ago I bought Emeril Lagasse's version, Pressure Cooker, Air Fryer, Slow Cooker and Sous Vide all in one. It gets used about 2-3 times a week, I just made some Split Pea Soup the other day in about 40 minutes.
I used to steam eggs in the stovetop pressure cooker with good results, but this is easier : pot of boiling water, remove from heat, add eggs, return to boil for 12 minutes, drain, add cold water.
We have a small one that I barely use, preferring to sear the meat in skillet and then put it in the crock pot for the final dish. But I gotta say, my sister threw all the ingredients into hers and an hour later it produced an absolutely killer beef stew. Very very nice.
Have that model and use it regularly. Love the fact that I don't have to defrost chicken but just throw it in there. Used it tonight with my air fryer top to make french fries. Same as with the instant pot, just throw the frozen french fries and cook them.

ReplyDeleteConcur with 9Booger. Hard boiled eggs turn out perfectly. It is worth the investment for that job, alone.

ReplyDeletePulled pork in 2 hrs? Eeeewww.
DeleteIt is fast and convenient for sure, but the texture of the food is often less palatable than conventional cooking methods.
ReplyDeleteI've only made rice in mine and the rice tastes great. Also, the rice is better reheated than from regular cooking.

I use it and I've lost 55 lbs since February.
