  2. I camped out, ok slept in my truck on Wolf Creek pass and watched the night sky change. It was amazing. I also drove from Calif to CO at night watching Hale Bopp the whole way. We've been lucky to experience 2 great comets Hale-Bopp and Halleys (1986) in our lifetime.

    1. I have to say that Hale-Bopp was far better than the latest apparition of Halley's. I spent the night at Joshua Tree getting some photos on Fujichrome. I didn't have the lab mount them and just kept the roll. I later saw that about half if the frames had streaks from inbound traffic to LAX. Still got quite a few good ones.

    2. I sat on the hood of a humvee on the back 40 of Fort Polk watching the Hale-Bopp through NVGs with my platoon sergeant, during a JRTC deployment. Good times.
