And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Yes, you do John. Rather than mourn the one you lost, think of the one you're going to save and have a splendid life with. We lost a cat last week, she was special and we miss her.
True, Ghostsniper. My Lovely Melis is occasionally putting a shelter dog in my eyesight, so it'll happen. Looking for a mutt, a mix of say an Aussie and something. I've already decided on a name.
#14 is a good depiction of what's needed to drive in most of urban America. Especially the biggest, blue cities that are all cesspools of crime and violence.
Except for not having air conditioning that's needed for LA, New Orleans, Miami, Atlanta...
Excellent grouping. Used to love just watching the boat wake. Had many aspens on my Colorado land, it smelled so good in the fall. The redwood picture reminds me of the summer I basically lived in the redwoods until the state came up with the 14 day rule. Best summer of my life. There's places on the coast where it's only 8 hrs "day camping" now. Government; always out to take your freedom. The desert racer reminds me of all the races in the Mojave where thousands would show up every weekend. Good times.
one never knows just how rotten the log over a ravine is until one tries it on for size, particularly if it is coated with moss and fungus. have some slight experience with that back when I could walk in the forest...
The Ferrari looks like it has some suspension damage in addition to the dented fender. Bet you could buy a new car with what that repair bill comes to.
I always love these FOR posts... Ive been in southern Kommiefornia for 30 years and it's always been the Sierras (esp Bishop/Mammoth) that kept me here... but #7 snowfall gif reminds me of home in the upper midwest... it just might be time to exfil... thanks for another great week.
Nice!

The man hiking with his dog pic, with the towering peaks in the background makes me miss my dog. I gotta get another dog.

Hey, a "Son of Land Cruiser" spotted in #12... Woo Whoo!
ReplyDeleteGreat Open Road Friday. Thank you for "tranquility now".

ReplyDeleteThat 2nd image was totally uncalled for. Even if it is a Ferarri.
ReplyDeleteI would not trust a horse that much so close to the edge.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite is the one with the dog.
ReplyDelete#2 - I've heard of the Ferrari model 'California T' - is this a Ferrari 'California Tree'?
ReplyDeleteCW you outdo yourself every week.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I like the snow falling and wish until spring that was as close as I get but know better.

#17 What is the rope for? Is she tied to her horse?
ReplyDelete#2 Looks like a bad day for a Ferrari 330 P3 or P4 during the Targa Florio.
