  1. They get big. Once I was drilling a well on a prison farm, down in the bottom near the Trinity River in East Texas, and the floods came. Had to leave on the roof of a bulldozer. When we got back after the floods receded, there were big gar caught up in the barbed wire fences just like this.

  2. 6 years old. First fish I caught. My uncle stabbed it with his Bowie knife. Was upset until saw the teeth.

    1. First fish I caught from a boat was a gar, nasty little bastard carved up my finger a bit, never had seen one before that or since thankfully.

  4. I actually think that's a spotted gar rather than an aligator gar.

  6. LMAO... have to show my wife.
She was paddle boarding on Watts Bar Lake in TN when a long skinny fish came up beside her, said it scared her half to death... never even saw the teeth!

  8. Caught me a needle nose gar once on a treble hook. The hook had actually gotten stuck between the sucker's razor like teeth. Never hooked him proper. Found out how sharp them teeth were too, sliced open my finger when I went to wrap the mouth up.
Needless to say, a pair of tin snips to cut the armor plating off and he went into the fryer. Delicious!
