And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I drove a ‘60 Ford Galaxie until ‘69. Then used saved-up my combat pay to buy a new, VW Beetle. I recognize the Chevy, the Ford, a Dodge(?), the Buick and Plymouth. All pre-power steering, brakes and a/c was an expensive feature.
Is the red car a Buick or a Pontiac? The Ford looks like a '61, the Dodge maybe a '54, the Buick or Pontiac around a '58 but the far one I have no idea year or make.
The value of money .... I had a $8 burger from Big Bubba's Burgers on Saturday, we were in a car built in 2004.
ReplyDeleteOk who can name all of the parked cars correctly? From left to right I see a Chevy, a Ford Galaxie, A (?) An Olds and another (?)
ReplyDeleteThe 2 unrecognizable Dodge and Desoto?.....maybe Plymouth?....I had a 61' Mercury convertible that would've fit right in....
ReplyDeleteEverything is time relative. Keep in mind, back when this photo was taken these beauties were as common as Toyotas and Nissans are today.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if that King Burger put the upstart
ReplyDeleteMcDonald’s out of business...

ReplyDeleteI had a Pontiac Chieftain, last Straight Eight. Sounded like a sewing machine.
ReplyDeleteBear in mind that vehicles of that vintage were pretty much scrap by 80k miles. About ten years age.
