And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Been there, seen it. It's worth the walk through Hell's Kitchen. The SR71 was smaller than I always thought, I think the design is so unique it just always looks bigger in pictures.
They were cut up for transport to display spots and the rest were cut up for scrap, a local company here scrapped one... even the cut up parts were way cool.😎
When I was with 1st MAW in Okinawa, we had a F-18 that had a problem with the foundation the engines bolted into. The decision was made to take it apart and load it onto a C-5 to take it back to a rebuild facility in CONUS.
It was wild to load that plane onto a plane. Even the Air Force guys were watching us Marines accomplish that task.
Was this s crash recovery that they cut the wings off?

ReplyDeleteThat's a "post wing mod" New York ANG C-5A. After the wings were replaced they re-painted them from MAC Gray and White to European 1 Camo.
