And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I remember watching my Papaw harvesting honey with no protective gear whatsoever. I just thought that was how it was done. He was also a farmer, a preacher and a master carpenter. A much tougher and better man than I’ll ever be.
At our cottage in the late 1950's a hornet's nest (yellow jackets) grew underground beneath a bedroom window. Dad was ready to go for them with smoke but my younger brother, aged 6, took to the nest with a fly swatter first. Fast frantic drive to the little local hospital 50 miles away; 34 stings.
Well seem no worse for the wear, as cats are not known to me to be honey fans that was commendable to join his buddies.
