Lakers, Clippers Move To End NBA Post-Season As LeBron James Leads 'Player's Strike' Movement

Yeah, that's the ticket.

Cancel the highlight of your entertainment industry's yearly event.   That'll put money into your pocket.

Sometimes the idiocy of people is just stunning.

NBA players are ready to scrap the whole season as they're swept up in yet another protest movement for "social justice".
As we recounted yesterday, it all began Wednesday afternoon when the Milwaukee Bucks (the team closest to Kenosha) announced that the team would be boycotting Game 5 of its first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic. After they moved, the rest of the league swiftly followed as players scrambled to evade the wrath of the 'cancel culture' police, ready as ever to brand any who resist with the scarlet letter of "insufficient woke-ness."
A late-night meeting between players, coaches and the league ensued, and according to Deadline Hollywood, it didn't go nearly as well as the owners had probably hoped. The Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers (which still carries the stain of having once been owned by a man outed as a notorious racist) both reportedly voted to end the season without continuing.
Since most NBA players are working men who are operating under the same financial pressures as ordinary people (though they lack the platform of somebody like a Lebron James), the rest of the teams in the league pushed back, arguing that the season should be allowed to continue.
The financial repercussions should the season be cancelled will undoubtedly total into the billions, and with the league likely to reject the player's collective bargaining agreement if the season falls through, it could leave the league with a lockout on its hands as we head into next season.

  1. I'm 100% behind them scrapping the whole season. Don't care why.

  3. Professional sports needs to embrace socialism in its compensation. Every player should get the exact same salary and bonuses regardless of ability to play the game.

    1. Every player should be payed the same amount as the lowest worker in the organization or stadium where they play.

And, onversely, everyone should have the exact same benefits and retirement package as those at the top.

      Want socialism. Experience real socialism.

  5. The players do not care what I think and I do not care about their 'precious thoughts', so we have that in common. Drop these 'world class atheletes' off onto a deserted island and see how long their basketball skills keep them alive.

  6. I never watch any televised sports, and I see nothing wrong with being a "notorious racist".

  7. I didn't serve my country for 3years, 4 months and 18 days to have a bunch of multi-millionaire, so called, athletes disrespect our country, our people, our flag, our national anthem, and my brothers in arms who allowed these ingrates to pursue their happiness, while a lot of my brothers died to preserve a system that allows them to compete at the highest level of their chosen sport and pays them a lot of money to do it.

At no other job in this country would the owners and managers of a company allow this take a knee bullshit disrespect to take place at their workplace.

Fuck these ingrates. I'm done with sports.

  10. I never have been a sports fan. I've always felt if someone enjoyed a sport they should PLAY it, not WATCH it. Idiots like LeBron prove the point.

    1. Of course, now that I'm a crippled old man, I can't play anything anymore, but when I was young, I sure enjoyed playing - - - , but never anything "professional", but just plain ol' having fun.

  13. If they won't play, they have broken their contracts. So fire them, all of them, and never hire them back. Esp. Lebron James. Then hire a new generation of ball player... and pay them less and cut the ticket prices too.

  15. Who cares, we gave up watching pro-sports years ago, too many others things to do. They forgot to keep politics out of sports.

  16. "Since most NBA players are working men who are operating under the same financial pressures as ordinary people"

What? Minimum NBA player salary is $893,310 (US dollars). I have zero sympathy for the striking players. The hell with all of them. If there is anyone I feel sorry for, it's the actual ordinary people who work NBA venues like the janitors, ticket sellers, facilities crew, etc.

Also, isn't it racist to call a team that's probably 75% negro men "The Bucks"?
