There's one of these where I work and makes a reasonably good cup of coffee

  1. Back in 2003 I started working at a communications start-up. They had a Keurig. I spent $130 on one for the house. My wife thought that I had gone crazy spending that kind of money on a coffee maker. We still have it and it still makes a great cup of coffee.

  2. I have one ...MORE TROUBLE than it is worth.

  3. The amount of non recyclable plastic waste those produce is embarrassing to say the least, and I'm far, far from being called a tree hugger. The reusable basket is more work than it's worth.

  4. Have they straightened out the problems with the air pump?
I bought two that lasted less than a year each.

  5. Do not let one freeze! We made that mistake with the one we kept in our travel trailer. Something cracked inside from freeze damage and leaked water every time we tried to use it. I was able to dismantle it (I've spent a lifetime doing fine instrument mechanics) and find the cracked plastic component inside. But...they are not designed to be repairable or taken apart! They're only designed to be assembled once at the factory, and no repair parts are available. I was able to dry out the component and superglue it. It's worked fine for over a year now, but we bring it into the house anytime frost threatens.
