  3. I have been in both at Santa Ana. (I think only one remains)
    You see pictures and you think, Wow! They're huge! But pictures do no justice. These hangers (Mare Island too, I believe) are incredible.

  7. Enterprise Air Wing. Fighters start with "6-" and yes F4B's. Looks like Devastators third so place this 1940? Curtis dive bombers in between?I

  8. Moffet Field, and way over there in the corner were parked 3 C-130s, in the corners. Those were huge buildings. still are.

  9. So big they could develop their own weather system inside. During airshows at Moffett, they would have rides on tethered hot-air balloons in there.

  10. Tillamook, Oregon, has one. Visit that air museum just for the shop smells, decades old. Oil, gas, grease, solvents. Airplanes, too.

  11. The Goodyear air dock in Akron, Ohio is the largest building in the world without interiors supports, built in the 1920's.
