And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Friday Open Road - on a Saturday
Had a two day road trip Thurs/Fri that kept me behind the wheel and away from the computer.
There's fires around, but I'm in no danger. The air quality here is terrible, and it was terrible all the way to Fresno, then to Sonora, where it was probably the worst I've seen, and then back here. The length and breadth of the great valley.
anent those Land Rovers: I am constantly amused by the fact that 4WD vehicles in Africa, Asia and Australia are never jacked up a foot, rolling on vast oversized tires, and slathered with chrome. they get the job done, stock as a rock.
What did that poor Willys do wrong to get tarted up in Landrover colors?
ReplyDeleteNow a nice gloss olive-drab or, better yet, flat olive drab? That's a good paint scheme.
We were worried about you CW. Some even suggested we chip in and hire Messer Michael Avenatti in case you had been jailed.
ReplyDeleteWorth the wait. Especially liked the image of that Canadian Cessna 140 backlit.
ReplyDeleteWondered where you were
ReplyDelete#2 reminds me of what I imagined my Hot wheels track would look like if real.
The first picture is what my idea of a perfect driveway to my place would be...
ReplyDeleteI was furiously looking for my Friday Open Road fix and started worrying. Glad you are fine as I was concerned something had happened to you.
ReplyDeleteCW, are you close to any fires?

ReplyDeleteI enjoy the open road Friday’s ! Keep up the good work
ReplyDeleteAs an aside, it's a sign of the times that every time someone is late with a regular post, the worst is suspected....
ReplyDeletethanks, CW. Great job as usual.
