Truck Drivers Say They Won’t Deliver To Cities with Defunded Police Departments

What mayor could get elected if they campaigned on the slogan, "My actions as mayor will ensure no trucks deliver to our town?"

Seventy-seven percent of truck drivers say they will refuse to deliver freight to cities with defunded police departments.

Truck drives have been voicing their concerns on the CDLLife App. After reading about their concerns, CDLLife posted a poll on the app.
We asked drivers on the app, “Would you pick up/deliver to cities with defunded or disbanded police departments? Why or why not?”
To date, 77% of drivers say they will refuse loads to cities with disbanded or defunded police departments.
Here are some of their responses:
“…if something was to happen and you have to take matters into your own hands, and then you risk being prosecuted for protecting yourself.”
“This is not an area you need to act fearless and think you you’d look like a fool for saying no…Imagine what kind of fool you look like for driving into a hot spot and putting your life in danger.”
“I will not deliver to an area with a disbanded police department. My life matter and I do this for my family. We are already at the mercy of these towns and cities with laws and hate against us for parking, getting a meal or even using a restroom.”
“Simple. We may not like it all the time, but laws and order is necessary.”
“Most places we go already can be dicy an about only time you see a cop is when lights is on behind you.”

  1. Stop all deliveries
Let them experience what Socialism is like 5 years down the road,
once it runs out of other peoples $$$$ to spend.

  2. Reginald Denny is a reminder to truckers of what can happen if they are pulled from their cab. Everything in stores is delivered by truckers.

  3. Why would you deliver to people who want to murder you and steal the goods that you're delivering?

  5. The insurance carriers need to get involved in this. There will always be a trucker or truck line that will see an opportunity to pick up more business and charge higher rates. Insurance companies should cancel policies on the trucks that deliver to those places without Police protection.

    1. No need to cancel. After all "Insurance" is about evaluating the risk, and sharing the costs. Put an exemption for no-copy cities, or add a premium for no-cop cities. Pool those companies into a High Risk category charge accordingly.

Same thing as is done with single male drivers under 25.

  7. The truckers could instantly become the most powerful political group in the nation.
IF they would just stick together.
just imagine: congress votes on another stupid law or freedom limiting law or higher taxes or whatever, just refuse any deliveries or pickups in that congress members district. no food, no gasoline, no packages , no freight of ANY kind picked up or delivered. every business in that area, is OUT of business in a matter of hours.
