And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? Private First Class, Raymond Hubert, casually removing “3 days worth of sand” from his boots, on the island of Saipan in 1944.
Hi CW, Looks like he is sitting on an unexploded 16 inch projectile probably fired from one of our Battle Wagon's!! Battle Ships designated "BB" fired 16 inch rounds 4 per battery ... If it made it that far with out going off it probably won't till EOD deals with it.. skybill
Imagine some of today’s snowflakes being thrown into that situation.... they would be diagnosed with PTSD before they even got to boot camp let alone battle.
I don't have imagine it. I experienced it during the buildup and early stages of the Iraq war. I had some young soldiers that stepped up to go beyond their job but I had more that fell apart, including my Butter Bar.
That was what made me stop chasing E-8 and drop my paperwork for retirement.
Check out the condition of his uniform! Probably figuring how to patch the hole in his boot. Probably has had his kit since day 1. Different time bred different men. I say he turned out just fine. At least he had a good idea Of who his enemy was, until he got stateside. MF
