There's always that one guy who's late to recognize the danger.

A tornado turning a concrete building into rubble in seconds from r/interestingasfuck

  1. Concrete? Not hardly.

    Cinder block.
Look at the wall on the right.
Which goes by the industry term "unreinforced masonry", and which earthquakes and tornadoes have been turning into rubble in 0.2 seconds since forever.

An actual steel rebar-reinforced concrete building would have stood up to a twister like a pillbox, with only the glass windows and lesser debris (and any stick-framed roof) being the problem, and most of the building would have come through like a champ.

People who build like the Three Little Pigs, for the rain, and not the storm, deserve to learn that lesson good and hard, and eventually do.

  2. I'm guessing camera 2 was fairly well shielded, that hair on the lens never budged.
