And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

It can be the jungle out there, but the wolf has to eat
Had it play out in miniature in the backyard, yesterday. The cat killed an adolescent cotton tail. She about about half of it before wife let the dog and the puppy outside. The puppy is about 12 weeks old and found the half of the rabbit that the cat hadn't eaten and stole it, then came bouncing toward my wife with it to show off what she'd found.
Wife took the half a rabbit, then put it in the trash. Then the puppy went back behind the barbecue and came back with the gut pile hanging out of her mouth. I was laughing so hard, and my wife was trying to keep her breakfast down..."Take it away from her!" "Take it away from her!" Me: "Nah, just let her eat it. Gives her some fresh meat." "Besides, I'm not touching that!"
