  3. The end looks padded up,, maybe to protect it? What better way to get that ram out than put some air in and give it a Thwack? I think it was the plan,, and it worked,,

  4. With a hydraulic ram that size, it might have been the only way to get the O-rings to unseat for disassembly. Their mistake was using air instead of water or hydraulic fluid. Much safe to use incompressible fluids.
