And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
I wondered about the chain, I guessed it had something to do with logging. Then again that could be in Maine and the cabin a quick walk from the ocean, ships & lobster for lunch. If I'd have seen Maine before I moved to Minnesota! I'll bet the winters still would have driven me out after 6 years but with the ocean that close I just don't know.
