  1. Nah, good socialist warrior, she died, aged 95 in Paris (2014).

  2. I wonder if she was a Communist "comfort woman" for members of the Lincoln Brigade.

    1. Isn't "Sharing everything" supposed to part of socialism?

  3. Fall of 2017 Mrs. and I spent most of two weeks in Spain, including several days in Barcelona. I signed up for a walking tour of the CW sites lead by a history professor whose grandparents were active participants in the unpleasantness. Fortunately, I was the only one to show up for it but he decided to run it anyway, and it was fascinating. When he realized I was genuinely interested, he stretched the hour and a half tour into three and if Mrs. hadn't already made plans for the afternoon, I'd have gone along for the afternoon tour as well. Maybe the best $40 I've ever spent. But sobering stuff. Some really bad things went on in the Spanish CW.
