And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Since the USMC in the Vietnam Era (I was stationed in the Panama Canal Zone and never went to Nam) I was used to the 230-grain ball ammo shown in the upper left. I still use it today as a matter of comfort and reliability...it ALWAYS feeds. So what is the tradeoff between a 230-gr ball round and a expanding hollow point that spreads out like shown here, but that most likely has less mass? The original ball ammo had going for it a powerful "knock down" punch... but do you gain that much in terminal ballistics by lowering the mass (grain weight) and increasing its terminal diameter?
Is there any information available about the brands, caliber, and weights of these bullets?
ReplyDeleteTop right is the one you don't want to become acquainted with. SXT - same exact thing as black talon less the scary black coating.
ReplyDeleteNot enough information here. Go to Luckygunner.com and check out their tests.
ReplyDeleteThey give you depth of penet./sz of mushroom and vel. All good stuff.
I shoot the Hornady (lower left) and the Black Talon (just right of that). Both are effexctive.
