And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Better be sunrise, or they're way late setting up camp.
It appears he is back paddling. His wake extends out in front of him. I guess he wants to go slower than the river. Or, he is backing his way up the river.
I know a lot of people who wait until dark to set up camp. I'm just the opposite and usually tick people off who are camping with me. Of course, now I live in a hovel at the White Wolf Mine, I'm 'technically' camping every day, so it has thrown off my traditional camping rythm.
No one who has camped out in cold weather in the mountains waits till dark. Once the sun goes down it gets way cold very quickly. Better have the fire going, the tent and bag ready, and the food cooking. Eat like a king, jump in the bag, and sleep like a baby.
