And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
Not really. Culloden was a massacre of people just like him. Virginia needs people who will fight better, stronger, safer than the Scots under Bonnie Prince Charlie. Too stubborn and hide-bound to think tactically and strategically past 'Enemy, Charge!'
What Virginia needs is Washington and his troops on Christmas Eve in Trenton.
Or Henry Knox and his brave fellows, busting hump from Ticonderoga to Boston.
Now, some of the Scots-Irish that fought in the Revolution or in the Civil War, those fellows would be welcome.
Pass on the -60 (and I've a goodly bit of time with them); the 240 is a much better gun. Or the MG-3, even better if you ken what yer about... Boat Guy
