  1. In order for them to get the mid-air refueling components to fly from the UK to the Falkland Islands, they had to strip parts from B-1A's in US museums. It was the last gasp from a dying empire.

  3. saw a vulcan doing an airshow in vancouver in the 1960s. monstrously huge aircraft that can turn on a dime and fly very very slow if it needs to. spectacular takeoff and landings.
