My how times have changed

  1. in 1965, I had a civics teacher who taught us about the law in the old west in montana from the first person perspective. were she alive today, she would be grabbing her guns and headed for the swamp in DC to put thing aright, as she would say. she constantly called bullshit on the history texts of montana history. her favorite expression was "now here's what really happened today in history". she had the newsprint filled with the gritty stories telling of the Plumber gang and nefarious gangsters who rode the trails of the montana of her youth. she explained activities of corrupt politicians of all kinds and why it is necessary to call them out every time. often, in montana, tar and feathers was not good enough. her class was an eight month long seminar of civics in action. God love her. Ms Strong was right.
school boards today would probably throw her in jail, bunch of jackasses.

  2. my 1972 English teacher and my 1972 Civics teacher shared a house for 15 years, and never a word about dating a man from either. shocking back in the day. it wasn't like any guy was missing out on anything.

  4. I had a big time crush on my Social Study's teacher. She drove a brand new, maroon 1969 Camaro Z/28. I can still hear those solid lifters.
