And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
My Dad had a Model A roadster when he was in college. There was a steep hill that he drove down when leaving school, and often the cops were waiting at the bottom of the hill to ticket those who couldn't stop at the sign; the Model A wasn't known for the strength of its brakes, so before going down the hill he'd check to see if they were there.
If they were there, then Dad would have to climb under his Model A & adjust the brakes so that the wheels would barely turn, otherwise he'd overshoot the stop sign at the bottom. Then as soon as he was out of sight of the cops, he'd reverse the procedure!
I think he'd have been horrified at the thought of driving out to the edge of a cliff, even if he'd tightened the brakes to the max!
Looks like he didn't either.

So fix them. Aren't you OK with simple tools?
