Dodge Madness

I've never seen one of these on the road.  Quite rare.

  1. '59? I traded a guy a chainsaw for one with 36,000 miles on it. Needed the spindles n drums off the front for my roadster axle. Pristine sheetmetal, grille, 318 poly motor. Had no idea how rare the V8 version was so I parted what was left out.

  3. Do not ever remember seeing one of these, but I think it would be sort of the equivalent of the Chevy Cameo, without the integral cab and box. But what you do see, EVERY DAY is a 1949-55 Chevy fat-fendered pickup, whether driving, or parked, and it doesn't matter where in America you are. There are more of those still on the road and parked than ANY other old pickup, including the later 50s, 60s, and maybe even 70s models. There are far more of them still around than I would have ever guessed were even manufactured. And yes, there were 2 different 1955 models built, the older fat-fendered ones and the next body style after them. The earlier fatties had 2 piece flat windshields, and I believe at least some of the later fatties had a one piece curved windshield.

    1. Chevrolet / GMC 'Advanced Design'. Yes they are good trucks ('49 3100 5-window 4-speed).

    Thanks for the post.
