A late night disturbance

So, last night, about 2am, Maya the Cat decided she wanted out and started making a fuss, so I got up and opened the door there in our bedroom.  She just stared at it and didn’t move.

So, I went outside on the patio to lure her out.  As I did that I noticed the light around by the trash cans come on, so I wandered over to see if there was anything there.

Sure enough, as I rounded the corner, there was a trash panda on its way to the backyard.  I had my little xenon flashlight with me, so I spotlighted the little dude just like he was escaping from Stalag 19.  Panicking, the panda rushed to the fence, then ran along it back to the back corner of the property, by the wisteria.  Over the fence he went.

He’s probably been eating the kibble Mrs CW’s been putting out for the cats.

After all that, Maya the Cat indeed did come out of the house, and I left her sitting on a rock in the backyard staring into the field, where I’m sure the panda was staring back at her.

And back to bed I went.
