This was a lot of fun to watch, and listen to.

  1. I believe they mean "Scots"-Irish. Scotch is a whiskey.

  2. When I was in school, in Florida in the 80s, our school had a radio station.

I was listening to what I knew as Bluegrass music, when a girl with a Scottish accent came on and announced that this was old Scottish folk music.

It dawned on me then that people had arrived, gone into the hills of Appalachia with their music, and stayed there unbothered by time, until after WW1, when radio had brought this music to the rest of America.
