And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
There was a time....everybody forgets the things that were done to try to undue injustice toward minorities in this country....too bad we are seen as a racist nation by the democratic party....for all the good that this country has done, it just makes sense to focus on the negative.../s....we did away with slavery in the mid 1800's, yet there are countries in the world who still promote it....but we are the bad guys.....right....
