Shave King Flubber Green 24mm Timberwolf synthetic brush, Sterling Iced Pineapple soap, Otto Deutsch Hans straight, Proraso green aftershave. Flubber is a portmanteau of "flying rubber," from the old Disney classic movie "The Absent Minded Professor."
Two passes and some touch up. Ok shave, but not outstanding. Still not happy with the Otto straight. It shaves, but should be sharper, like my other razors. Maybe it's a good candidate for my first try at honing?
May I ask where you purchase these wonderful shaving supplies? I'm looking for a reputable online source that won't break the bank for quality items.
ReplyDeleteHere you go:'
Deletewestcoastshaving.com
phoenixartisanaccoutrements.com
etsy.com is also fun. Just enter "shaving brush" or some other related search term in their search box, and all sorts of cool stuff pops up.
Thanks much!

Deletex1 on Portland. They have good stuff and really great, in house razors. They're the ones that got me into Proraso green aftershave, my ultimo favorite.
Deletehave you tried the oiled soaps to smooth the razors pull?
ReplyDeleteYeah, but this is an issue with the edge. Lots of stropping, but it still just doesn't cut as easily or smoothly as it should. I'm watching some videos this weekend and then I'm getting out my finest Arkansas stone to see if I can improve this by honing, then stropping, as I love the razor itself. It just needs to shave right to be perfect.
