And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
That makes my latest acquisition that I got about two weeks ago look like a piece of crap. I thought that it was pretty nice looking until seeing this. Sigh.........................
I got the Tristar CTA combo and a nice Peak Case to carry it to the range. I was going to hold out for the CTA Deluxe with the removable trigger, but I figured that was one more thing for me to mess around with and break. I was also thinking about going more high end, but I have over 11,000 rounds through the Tristar Mono with nary a bit of trouble, so I figured that I'd stick with them for now.
I know what you mean but I went the other direction. I have a pair of Beretta DT10s and really like haveing the ability to just pop out the trigger group for a quick and easy clean.its a nice option for a high round count gun to have.
I'm still testing my wings in the sport. The higher end gun will come in time. I was kidding around with the lovely missus and told her that I had my eye on a nice K-80. Just as a joke, mind you. When I relayed to her that the one that I wanted was $20K plus, she just said that if I don't get bored with trap shooting and I'm still doing it in four years that I can buy one. My reply was "Who the hell are you and what have you done with my wife?".....................
I don't really want a K-80. A DT-10 may be in my future, though. Really nice gun. I had the pleasure of trying one that a friend has. Out of the more expensive trap guns that I've gotten a chance to fire, I think I do lean towards Beretta. I came very close to buying a Beretta 682 Gold E Trap Combo, but I'm having a large wall built to the tune of $16K and we want to get the kitchen remodeled soon. For once in my life I used a little discretion and went cheap on the gun. Just for now, that is.........
I would say you made the right choice and I don't think that's cheap. Remember it's not really the gun. I've seen people go 50 straight or shoot a 90+ with a 870 so there's that. I was a competitive intl.skeet shooter for many years and now only really shoot sporting clays/fitasc. I got into the DT10s because my skeet gun was a Beretta ASE90 witch were essentially the older hand fitted version of the same. But back in the day I won my class and a shoot or two with a really worn out Remington 3200.( the original K80 kinda) shoot what you got,you are your only handicap...
Beautiful work.
