And what country can preserve its liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.

Pursuant to Aggie's request.... Feast!
Keep in mind that this is both my gear and the LT's gear combined.
Awesome. I have two old straight razors but I've never worked up the never to try one for the first time. Any suggestions? For instance, is there a video or online resource that can help a novice work through the first effort with resources for 911?
Oh yeah there is, but the best thing is just practice. On the straight razor thing, start with a really sharp one, and do an easy part of the face, like a cheek. The skins should be stretched, and the angle of the blade should be nearly flat to the skin. Don't push. If sharp enough, the razor should skim the face, using the weight of the razor only. This guy has a good tutorial: https://youtu.be/sDq-2ZRVYXA The one and only Matt Pisarcek: https://youtu.be/m4yaQqlvwQQ
I have had it done at a few barber shops. I then tried a strait razor once. That was enough. I will stick with my safety razor or Bic disposable. But I also keep a beard most of the time.

Ha! Freudian slip. 'Nerve' not 'never'

ReplyDeleteThere's a reason safety razors took over the market. Using a double edge safety after a straight is like child's play.
DeleteYou need more. Yes, it's an impressive collection but I have your back when you tell Mrs.CW that you need MORE.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, Mrs CW has her own hobbies. I don't bother her, and she doesn't bother me. Makes us both happier.
