To be able to step out of your house like this and watch the aurora borealis would be a bucket list experience.

The youngest daughter was recently in Iceland and said she saw the aurora.  Wish I could have been there.

  2. Been there, done that. The husband and I were stationed at NAS Keflavik for 2 years.....MAGNIFICENT tour. That video does NOT do the lights justice.

  3. Hope she enjoyed it...a very pristine, primitive beauty to Iceland. We brought back an Icelandic sheepdog with us....brilliant animal...stubborn as a mule....out-thought us each and every day for 13 years. :)
He died 3 years ago and we missed him so much we searched out a rare breeder in the States (Michigan), and got a magnificent little boy. Funny enough, he and our first have a significant, close, common ancestor....small world indeed.

Hope you get to go....it is worth the time and trouble.

  4. I grew up and lived in the far north for the better part of my life. AB was a regular feature in the winter night sky. I miss it. But I don't miss the eight months of winter and the minus forty temperatures that come with it.

    1. The daughter was speaking with some Icelanders while she was there, and was gushing about how awesome the country was. They responded, " You haven't been here in the winter."
