"Today, I'm urging states and local jurisdictions to comply with these federal laws. Moreover, the Department of Justice will require that jurisdictions seeking or applying for DOJ grants to certify compliance with 1373 as a condition for receiving those awards.""This policy is entirely consistent with the DOJ's Office of Justice Programs guidance that was issued just last summer under the previous administration.""This guidance requires jurisdictions to comply and certify compliance with Section 1373 in order to be eligible for OJP grants. It also made clear that failure to remedy violations could result in withholding grants, termination of grants and disbarment or ineligibility for future grants.""The DOJ will also take all lawful steps to claw back any funds awarded to a jurisdiction that willfully violates Section 1373."
Lawlessness must be defeated. To allow this political correctness to continue will undermine very quickly our legal system.
It is simply unbelievable to me that grown adults elected to government positions of trust and responsibility could ever consider seriously leading their jurisdictions into such obvious error. Severe jail time would never be more appropriate than in cases such as this, considering the grave menace their seemingly flippant virtue signaling presents to the foundations of our republic.
THey gonna do that with pot as well?
ReplyDeleteSeems to me that we gotta either go "The feds have jusrisdiction" or go without it.
(BTW, I am against Sanctuary Cities or states or whatever)
But the line needs to be drawn and clearly as to where the Feds jurisdiction stops and the rest begins.
Same-Same 2nd Amendment stuff....either it is "shall not be infringed" or it isn't.
Exactly, and that's the job that Congress has in our system. It's time, while the votes are there, to line up legislation and even amendments, like planes on the tarmac waiting to take off, and send it all to Trump.
DeleteI agree. Let 'em fly. Get a decision of law , instead of evasion of law. (and a blind eye turned away from the law)
