The dentist who shot Cecil the Lion will not be prosecuted

Zimbabwe court decides everything was on the up and up.  The dentist is off the legal hook.

The guide, not so much.

However, there is no way that the local authorities would damage their trophy hunting industry by prosecuting foreign hunters, as they bring big dollars into impoverished countries like Zimbabwe, and it is those dollars that encourage them to preserve the habitat and the wildlife they would almost certainly otherwise destroy. 

In other news, Howard Schwarzenwerfer is brought up on charges of needlessly swatting innocent mosquitoes landing on his arm, for no other reason than a little rest (say the leaders of Save the Mosquitoes, a wildlife preservation society dedicated to raising awareness of the plight of buzzing insects).
